Error: An unknown error occurred trying to save the video profile
Im trying to save some stream properties (right click a clip, properties, media, click the little save icon next to video 1) and I am getting an error.
An unknown error occurred trying to save the video profile Any idea? I used to do it way back in 10 but havnt had a need to use it until now. |
Re: Error: An unknown error occurred trying to save the video profile
Some of such error messages come up, when the file that you are trying to save is currently in use by a program that is running on that moment.

Danny, right click Vegas icon and chose 'Run as administrator'
or grant full access for users to c:\ProgramData\Sony\Vegas Pro\12.0\Vegas profiles.ini |
Re: Error: An unknown error occurred trying to save the video profile
Thanks Juris, your answer fixed the error but now another problem.
I can now see it is creating the entry in the ini file, setting it to progressive but each time I start vegas and add a clip it always sets it to upper field first, even though the ini is telling it to use progressive. Here is my ini entry Key14={2CFE4279-C170-480C-B556-2D8B4B8CCE77}, "None", 1920, 1080, 25.0, 12 Attributes14="Progressive", 1.000000, "None", 0.000000 Its for C100 footage in PF25 format (progressive in an interlaced wrapper). Seems to be a Vegas bug that its ignoring my ini file. |
Re: Error: An unknown error occurred trying to save the video profile
As seems that Vegas looking for information in ini file only if the media file does not contain it.

Re: Error: An unknown error occurred trying to save the video profile
It is definetly reading the right ini file. If I change the alpha or aspect it applys the correct setting. It's just totally ignoring my progressive entry.

Re: Error: An unknown error occurred trying to save the video profile
Maybe it will help, if you try the following:
In the box of the project settings, above the preview window click on the envelop "Match Media Settings" and ;lead the browser to one of the video-files you are using. Click the file and click on "Open". |
