Jerky, stuttering BD play.

I burned a few home movies in BD format (trying both AVC and MPEG-2), 1920 x 1080, length of each movie is between 45-60 minutes, bitrate ranges from the mid teens to low 20s. I burned these movies onto DL DVD+ discs. I played these on a couple of old (5+ years) standalone BD players. One couldn't even play (showing error message Incompatible Format). The other could play the discs, but there was noticeable stuttering of the motion, kinda herky jerky. Is this due to the players being so old?
Thanks,

Edit: Additional question:
How do you keep the chapter markers in a BD render? In regular DVD, I used the "M" key to place the chapter markers. While rendering for this project, I did the same, but the markers didn't transfer over to the final video. Yes, I did check the box for keeping the markers. Thanks,

Re: Jerky, stuttering BD play.

It seems that the bitrate is too large to write in the DVD disk. Try the same material to record in a BD.

Norris, did you ever figure out why the chapters aren't transferring. I'm having the same issue in v13

Re: Jerky, stuttering BD play.

In version 13 the transfer of markers to a BD format does not work. So to persist in the use of the markers on a BD disc, you should make the markers in DVD Architect.
