NewBlue Essential VI with VP13 -- Serial #?

I just purchased and installed the download upgrade to VP13 (from VP12). It came with NB Essentials VI, although I already owned it (purchased directly from NB). The VP13 purchase confirmation e-mail from SCS provided serial numbers for VP13, DVD Architect 6, and Izotope Nectar Elements. It did not provide a serial number for NB Essentials VI. I don't need another serial number since I already own the product, but shouldn't I have gotten a new serial number from SCS for NBE VI?

Why? When you already have it?

>>Why? When you already have it?<<

SCS doesn't know I already have it, so I would have thought I would have been provided with a serial number.

I realize I don't actually need a 2nd serial number, but was just wondering if others who upgraded to VP13 got one.

Are you absolutely, 100% positive about that? I'd have thought otherwise. SCS promoting their flagship product with a bundled-in, 3rd party product, I can see EVERY reason why they'd be sharing SERIAL info amongst their "Partners". If they didn't then they'd have to be setting up whole floors of Call Centre staff just to deal with the resulting mess! IMHO . . . .

And again, as you are wondering . . . "but was just wondering if others who upgraded to VP13 got one." Why wouldn't they, if they HADN'T already got the product already AND its own SERIAL.

Cheers

Grazie

I upgraded from SVP 12 to 13 and i also received new serial numbers for:

Vegas Pro 13 Upgrade (Download) Serial Number: xxx
DVD Architect Pro 6 (Download) Serial Number: xxx
iZotope Nectar Elements Serial Number: xxx

All the email said about Video Essentials VI was:

Your Vegas Pro 13 purchase includes Video Essentials VI. Now upgrade to eFX and get all the tools you need to accelerate your workflow. This diverse and balanced series includes 70 plug-ins and more than 700 presets. Vegas Pro 13 users save 25% by visiting:
Partner Products: NewBlue eFX

n.b. no serial number was supplied.

When I upgraded from 11 to 12 that included Titler Pro complete with a serial number.

Likewise when I went from 10 to 11.

So I think the OP has a point.

No. It could also mean that they KNOW he has a SERIAL.

I thought I read someplace that the version of NB Essentials VI that are giving away would only work with VP13 so it most likely doesn't need a serial #.

Re: NewBlue Essential VI with VP13 -- Serial #?

When you install the bundled VE6 and use it in Vegas Pro 13, it is activated automatically. You don't need a serial number. However, it will not work in older versions of Vegas and will not work in other supported NLEs that may be installed.

If you have VE6 with a retail serial number installed, stay with the retail serial number. The bundled VE6 will only be activated in Vegas Pro 13 and future versions of Vegas Pro.

Thanks, Edward. That clarifies it for me and explains why I didn't get a serial number.
