Missing Shots in rendered file?

Hi folks.

Hoping some else has encountered this problem and might have an explanation/solution.

I was building a wedding dvd in DVDA a few days ago, and when skimming through the MPEG file in DVDA, I noticed that some shots from the ceremony were missing (the audio was still there, just a black screen)

I opened the Vegas file for said project, thinking that I might have muted the video track or accidentally deleted the clips; but no. Everything was there and accounted for. I just put it down to some weird glitch and made a note to render that file again.

This morning, I'm doing the exact same thing with a completely different wedding, and I notice the same problem again. This time the shots are missing from the highlights. Again, I open the Vegas file to check, but all the shots are there and accounted for again.

The only link I could spot is this:
I shoot on a Sony Z5 so I always Match Media Settings to my Z5 footage. Now and again, I mix in footage from a GoPro and a Sony Z1.

The first time around, it was the GoPro shots that were missing; the second time it was the Z1 shots.

Could mixing the cameras have anything to do with it?

I'd be really surprised if it was as I've been doing weddings this way for 4 years now, and this problem is only showing up now.

Anyone experience this before?

A while back a fair few people were having issues like that when using Cineform files, myself included.
Never had it with native files though.
Which version of Vegas?

Sorry, thought I had mentioned which version:

It's Vegas 12, 64-bit.

I use a different program, but I have seen something similar.
It occurs when I have background rendering enabled, but do not wait for the background rendering to complete before I burn. My solution
1. Delete all temporary files
2. Enable background rendering
3. Allow it to re-render project before burn

There may also be another option similar to: Re-encode entire projected before burn

Thanks Vince. I'm not sure where to begin looking for those options in Vegas, but I'll give it a go.
