Vegas 13 not seeing PXW-X70XAVC clips

Hi All

Has anyone got V13 to accept the XAVC 50-mbit Long GOP MXF clips from the new Sony PXW-X70? This is causing me some grief. At the moment I am having to use the painfully slow one clip at a time export function in the new Catalyst Browse. Export to XAVC Intra and Vegas is happy. Come on Sony this is embarrassing, we need a fix for this real quick. Especially as seeing that other NLEs like Edius 7 are having no issues with these XAVC MXF clips.

Re: Vegas 13 not seeing PXW-X70XAVC clips

There is a thread in the Sony Vegas forum that has a lot of info with this. A number of applications have trouble importing those files, including Vegas.

A solution was to use the new free Catalyst Browse utility to transcode the XAVC Long GOP file(s) to XAVC Intra and use those.

Yes that's what I have done. I used Catalyst to export to XAVC Intra but what a pain that was. Catalyst is so slow and can only handle one clip at a time. No batch convert capabilities at all! The other downside is that XAVC Intra consumes just over 500% more drive space. Sony need to fix this quickly.
