how to gradually accelerate music

Hi,
I had a piano piece I want to gradually accelerate, and all I can think to do is to break it down into pieces and accelerate them more and more as it progresses. Is there a way to "fade in" the acceleration on the whole piece? Thanks

I’d do it with Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder, then import the result to Vegas.

The "effect" that you want is in Audactiy, under Effect -> Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift.
In your case, you would load the music into the editor, select the portion (or the entire thing) that you want accelerated.
Select Initial Tempo of 0%, and final tempo of whatever you want it to be.
I'm assuming you want the pitch to stay the same
Export your results to a new file, then import that new file into vegas.

+1. Good one Adam, Vince. Have had Audacity for ages and have learnt something new. Great!
