Stretching graphic

I can't work out how to stretch a piece of graphic...maybe someone can help.

In the illustration below (yeah I know it's terrible reproduction but it looks great as a png in vegas!! :-) ) I want to stretch the red arrow, along with the purple and red words either side of it, from the top to the bottom over about 5 seconds, with the whole of these three elements stretching to finally reach the size in the graphic.

The top red point would be anchored with the arrowhead etc stretching to this final length...

This piece of the graphic obviously will be a separate element to the rest of the graphic...

Thanks in advance

In short,

the red arrow et al goes on its own track.

Then, using track motion, turn off "preserve aspect ratio". It's one of those icons in the left channel of the track motion dialog.

Lock the TM to the cursor, and find where you want the effect to start. Grab the LR corner of the graphic and scrunch it up in to the UL. This will create a keyframe. Then advance the cursor to where you want the effect to be complete, and select "default" from the presets dropdown. This creates a second keyframe.

Then you might want to right click on the keyframes and change them to "smooth"...

At least I think those are the basics; I'm not in front of Vegas right now... and most of my recent work has been with event pan/crop, not track motion. IIRC the controls are similar.

Thanks Seth, I'll have a go. I thought I should be able to do something in track motion.

Ummm...the 'TM'?

Sorry - typing on a tablet from home

TM=Track Motion

"Lock to cursor" is an icon/button towards the bottom of the TM window, it syncs its cursor to the timeline cursor
