Damaged audio file
My Zoom fell during recording and the file is damaged, won't open in Vegas or in WMP.
Any suggestions on an application I can use to open it and transcode it into something useable? |
Re: Damaged audio file
a H4? Not saying it can't be recoverable but I had the same issue with a first gen zoom h4, it was on a minitripod maybe 5cm above the floor and fell over and gone was my audio, also the file was still on the card but no way to open it.

H1. There are audio repair solutions, I think, but not sure, I just am SO busy this morning getting ready for wedding I was too lazy to look for something. I'm just downloading last weeks wedding!

Re: Damaged audio file
Try to try opening this file as a RAW audio file in Sound Forge Pro. You will need to set correct actual parameters of recorded WAV,

Thanks, Juris, I don't have Sound Forge, but imagine it's downloadable.

Re: Damaged audio file
Jeff, try Audacity. It's free and a decent audio processing program.
