Audio out of sync...only on some clips.

Hey guys,

Was wondering if someone could offer up a couple of suggestions.

I have edited seven sketches using Vegas 6.0, then burned them to a DVD.....five of the sketches come out perfect...two of them don't have the audio synd'd up to the video...even though when I play them on the computer, they sync up fine.

It seems to be the actual "burning" of them (just those two sketches), that causes the audio to go out of sync.

Any ideas? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

Thanks.

this has happened to me on 2 occassions-one when I changed my normal render and burn procedure and another...well, computers and software are strange things. My suggestions are 1)re-render the Vegas project and see if that works (it did for me on the one I got dumb and changed my normal procedure) or 2) bring a rendered AVI into DVDA (assuming thats the authoring program you are using) an render (fit to disc) in DVDA

I have yet to figure out or understand why that happens but every once in a while the render throws things out. It's really goofy.
Sorry I can't be more help.

i had this happen once. my storage drive was really full. I freed some space and defragged and it solved the problem. You might try it.

I have had this occur in Vegas MS 6.
I have a feeling it may be related to sound and video not being synced on consumer DV cams.
In any event, I have found when previewing the result in Vegas, use the "preview" quality, not "best" as some machines are not good at this.
I have a rule that I check the sound sync very 5-10 minutes of footage I do.
If it is out, I "split" the audio track and adjust it to bring it back in sync with the video track. Tedious I know, but seems the best way.
The problem is probably a combination of capture, computer speed, hd speed, hd connections, defrag, virus checkers, etc. I always capture to a 2nd physical hard disk, not the one Windows uses.

Hope this helps, but human vigilance seems to be the best method(!)

Thanks guys...will try some of the suggestions, it just puzzled me that four of the sketches were fine and two of them were out of sync...they all went through the same process at each step.

I'm sure I'm just missing something, so I'll try re-rendering again.
