HD Footage in hard drive

Hi All,

Can someone please tell me for 3-4 hours of HD footage how much hard drive space I will need?

Thanks
Matthew

Chris:

If you are capturing in HDV native as Vegas 7 allows, it will be 12 or so plus an hour. However, if you are using the intermediate Cineform for capture, you will be looking at something like 35 to 40 gigs per hour, as I under stand it.

Edit: Sorry, I meant capture using Premiere 1.51 or the Cineform products.

HDV at 25Mbps (which is what 1080 HDV is) will be identical in size to DV. Figure approx 13GB per hour. If you are using an intermediary such as the CineForm HDI, figure approx 40-60 GB per hour, depending on the quality of intermediary stream you select.
