Sony Vegas render farm

I am looking for information on using multiple PCs as a render farm with Vegas. Specifically whether or not you can mix Athlon and Pentium-based machines in the same farm rendering the same footage.

The type of CPU would make no difference.

because few (if any) of the codecs allow multi threading on render farm machines (at least MPEG2 doesn't) so you will be limited to single thread rendering on farm machines.

but that is only if you use the render farm app to initiate the render. i have a second system and just copy the entire project over and kick of a local render. that way there is no multi-thread limitation.

the downside is that I cannot have a 3rd system also rendering the same project, so that render (if a large file) will take many hours instead of being split by the number of render farm machines.
