Capture HDV as DV in Vegas 7? at DVinfo.net

I have not been having success cutting HDV on my Vegas 7 system. I am on a tight schedule, so I was wondering if it is possible to capture my HDV footage as DV in Vegas 7? I could cut this project as DV while I figure out how to use HDV without the system choking.

I shot on a Canon XH-A1 (will be capturing from that cam as well).

There was an AUTO setting in the camera that was keeping me from Down Converting, but I switched it off.
