Vegas and After Effects!!

Hi All,

Can someone please tell me what is the best and correct way to do this?

I have a footage that I need to Edit. Should I edit it first in Vegas 7 and after I rendered it, then import it into After effects or the other way around?

Thanks
Matthew

Depends on what you want to do. AE is an inefficent processing hog. I normally do what I need to do in Vegas, import into AE and render that out as an uncompressed avi, and then back to Vegas and do a file replace.

Normally I'll cut my footage in Vegas, then export out only the footage needing fx. Dump that in AE, do my fx, then export in an uncompressed .avi file and put that back in the Vegas timeline.

What ever you finally decide on your workflow, do experiment with Satish Kumar's "Frameserve" s/w. This will allow you to import an un-rendered project INTO another platform. I'll just repeat that: "This will allow you to import an un-rendered project INTO another platform."

Soooo.... you can try out various versions of your Vegas or AE thing and not need to render!! Edit away in Vegas > Render As( yes it does say render, but it aint, don't worry!) > Pick "Frameserve" and open the live render-ing AVI file in "another" FXs package.
