1440x1080 24p to HDV

Hey guys,
I am shooting a new film (in 60i) and exporting to 24p from Vegas 7d. I have come to the realization that the "Print to tape" mode in HDV differs from DV mode, as you can export 24p 3:2 PD to DV tape. What I am doing, is rendering to a 24p HDV m2t at 50 mbps constant to preserve quality, importing back into a new project and exporting as 601 to HDV. But hate compressing compression, as I know resolution is being lost (maybe not to the eye, but it still pisses me off!)

: )

Are there any other methods of doing this?

Thanks guys!

Use cineform for all editing and MPG as your delivery...

dont bother trying to save time with MPG'ing as the crush in quality will be noticable.. if you were doing straight cut with minimal filters, id say use MPG, but youre better off using a wavelet in this sense..

Also if shooting 60i, just make sure your project is set to 24p, then when you export, allow the program to insert the 2:3 pulldown... its still an interlaced stream, but now with the pulldown, you can transewr it from tape to tape..

same applies for SD...
