Multitrack recording in Acid Pro 3?

Hopefully I'm in the correct forum for this.
I have Acid Pro 3.x (A la SoundForge..old, I know). I am trying to find out if and how I can record to multiple tracks simultanously. I have observed this done in Pro Tools, for example, where the tracks are simply 'armed' by clicking a box on them and knowing what input channel is assigned to that track. I am going through an M-Audio FireWire 1814. (FYI: I am also running Vegas 6.0 in case that has any bearing.) Is there a way to do this? Is it something that is available in an upgrade?
Thanks in advance.

You can do this in Vegas 6 more easily, I think.

Insert as many new audio tracks as you need. Play back as many tracks as you need.

Set your recorded files folder in Project Properties | Audio.

Right-click on the track header of each "record" track and pull down to "Record Inputs" to set the mapping from your sound card...

Arm the "record enable" (red) button on each track you wish to record on a particular take, then hit the record button in the timeline transport.

Nothing could be easier!

I agree with Seth that Vegas does this quite easily. If you want to do it in ACID you'll need to upgrade to ACID Pro 6.0. That's the first version of ACID that supports multi-track recording.

Thank you Seth and John. I read a post in another thread here by Douglas Spotted Eagle that while Vegas is known for its powerful audio ability that it's better to use Acid for initial heavy multi-track recording...so it looks like finding the best price for the latest version is next.
