Multi Cam switcher

Is there any scripts or add-ons for Vegas supporting Multi-camera?

PJ Gallagher April 18th, 2007 05:16 PM

If you want to switch between multiple cameras in post, I highly recommend the Excalibur script package:

http://www.jetdv.com/excalibur/multicam.php

If it's switching live on location you want, I can't help you there :-)

Cheers
Pat

There is also Ultimat S 3 from here:-

Multi-Cam makes life a LOT easier. Well worth it!

There is also infinitiCAM, and DuoCam in addition to the Ultimate S 3.0 script that Alistair linked to.
DuoCAM is a two-camera switch that is free, and infinitiCAM is unlimited cameras, set up for 49 cams out of the box.

Is it possible to create an EDL with any of these, while using live multicam?

Glenn Chan April 27th, 2007 01:17 PM

I believe Vegas can export an EDL via its scripting (look under the scripting menu, NOT file-->save as). There is an article about someone using Vegas' multicam to edit, then bringing an EDL into Nitris DS.

2- I'm not sure what you mean by live. Vegas won't do live switching.

After ingest + setup however, you can switch at 2X real-time (or 4X, etc.) by playing the playhead faster (use the JKL keys, or set playback speed to a custom value).

Thanks Glenn. The link posted in Pat's post to excaliber says "Live Camera Switching (Vegas 6.0b or newer only) ".I was wondering if an EDL is available.

You film the event. You capture the tapes. You put the tapes on the timeline and sync them (yes, the script helps with this process). Now you can play back the timeline and switch between the different camera angles live. It's not live switching DURING the event. For that, you need switching hardware.

Thanks for the explaination.

DuoCAM ?

Hi
Where can I free download the DuoCAM Vegas plugin?
Thanks
Ron

Dave Blackhurst April 29th, 2007 12:47 PM

Hi Ron -
Go to the vasst.com links and dig around - it's a 2 cam free version of their infincam (KILLER app if you need more than 2 cams for ANY mixdown!!). LOTS of great resources on that site!
