seperating audio from video

is it possible to seperate the audio from video on the time line.ie drop off some of the audio but leave the video unchanged.thanks rick

Yes. Turn auto ripple off. Turn grouping off and ungroup the video from audio tracks. Click the audio track to select it. Position your cursor where you want to split the audio and press S. Move the cursor to the point to want the split audio to end and press S. Select the splitout audio and delete it. That should leave a gap between the first and last split.

Just click either the audio or video and press "U" to "ungroup" them. Once ungrouped, you can manipulate them separately. If you wish them to remain grouped except for this one time, click the "Ignore Event Grouping" button and make the change. Just remember to turn "Ignore Event Grouping" back off when you're done.
