Render marked sections of video

I know how to render sections I mark in Sound Forge to create seperate files with the names of the marked regions. Is this possible in Vegas? I have a file that I have divided into seperate clips with each marked and named. I would like to render seperate MPEG2 files for each of the marked regions with the files having the name of the marker. I could of course do this individually but it would be nice to just batch them all like in Sound Forge.

There is a batch render script that ships with vegas.

Set up your timeline with named regions, then, use the script, and be sure to hit the checkbox "render by region".

In the script dialog, you'll have access to all the standard Vegas render templates, as well as any custom templates you've saved.

*Unfortunately*, the rendered files will be named blah/blah/blah0, b/b/b1, b/b/b2, instead of the regions names you plugged in. I'd like it to be otherwise, too. Perhaps one of our script mavens can fix it up?

Regardless, batch rendering is a very powerful tool.

Thanks to John Meyer and Edward Troxel, it's already been done :-)
Batch Render script for Vegas 7.
Note 1: This is a direct link to the script so do a Right-Click - Save As on it.
Note 2: The script for Vegas 6 and earlier called Batch Render GUI (JHM) is on the VASST site.

Mike, thanks for the link - and thanks to John & Edward, that's a fine little script!

Next problem !!! How do I change markers into regions? Sound Forge has a command for this too!!

A script could do this. You can also double-click between markers above the timeline and it will select the area between the markers. Then you can just press "R" to create & name the region.

Yes I had decided that I had to do this manually. It will be quicker to change to regions than sit there and export each one.

Thanks
