V6 - Setting time duration

Need a little help...I have a project in V6 that is basically graphics and audio (sound effects). The clip runs 33 seconds and I need it to run 29 seconds. I know that there's a way to "speed up" the playback to get it into the allotted 29 seconds but I can't seem to accomplish this task.

highlight the video clip-right click to bring out the menu-goto VELOCITY ENVELOPE-adjust as needed OR goto PROPERTIES-(of the clip) adjust playback rate as needed OR hold down the CONTROL button and grab the end of the clip-move to the left to the correct time
