slow stuttering preview?
 

Is it normal to have a very slow preview in Vegas? I am watching wmv rendered files which play fine at speed but slow in vegas, as does mt2 and now I even tried a cinform converted file, all are slow. They are all hdv files. I am running two systems

An AMD dual core 5000 at 2.4 with 4 gigs of ram and a GT8600 card running a 1080p 42" hdtv and a 22inch monitor at 1680x1050 and a gt6200 running a 19 monitor at 1440x900

And a second which is an intel quadcore 6600 at 2.4g per core, 4 gigs of ram, and an GT8600 running a 19 monitor at 1440x900 and a 22inch at 1680x1050.

both play very slow previews, everything has a ghost. When rendered it looks fine in other programs but even that plays slow in vegas preview.

Harddrives are Sata 2 500gig drives all relatively empty some almost completely empty, all brand new, seperate system drive also sata.


I have checked through a number of older threads which are quite conflicting, some saying they have great previews others slow, so I was hoping someone has figured out what is the issue if there is one.
