Compositing Help

Hi folks,
I've got 2 clips, one which I would like to mask. Any way to bezier mask my footage in Vegas without having to rotoscope a whole bunch of successive (movement) frames? If not, can anyone make a suggestion on how to do so and with what software?

Thanks - David Bird

Yes, it's in the Event Pan/Crop screen (middle icon at the right end of each clip).

Emre,
If I do a mask on 1 frame, this won't carry over to successive motion frames. This is not a still image...it's footage of a person moving about. Any way to "automatically" include sucessive frames?
Thanks - David Bird

Turn on sync cursor and explore keyframes.

Let's say the subject moves from left to right. Drop a keyframe at the beginning of the movement and adjust the mask. Drop a keyframe at the end of the movement and adjust the mask.

Change keyframe type to match the motion type by right clicking on the keyframe.

Add intermediate keyframes as needed.

you have to post a sample of the source, so we can see what is your problem.
usually i try to create a mask from the original clip using filter (contrast for example or isolate a color).
when pushed to extrem, some filter can lead to a B&W image you can use as a mask.
virtualdub is great for this, but simple filters are found in any editing application.
