Moving Titles in Vegas 7.0?
 

Is there a way to simply move/animate text around just with Vegas? Thanks.

I followed this info from off of a message board:

"Basically Spot is saying to create your text/title and while in the Placement tab, position it off the screen to the right.

Then, in the timeline at the bottom of that same dialog box, put your cursor all the way to the right (or end of the timeline) and click (you should see a vertical line that is blinking)

Then, grab your text/title again and move it all the way to the left (this will create a keyframe for you). Close the dialog box and hit play and you should see your text scroll from right to left."

Problem is, how do I get the title to go from left and right in an even manner?

when you move the title to the ending side and go to set your keyframe you can use either a numeric value to set the position of the last keyframe OR you can click on the position box and use the arrow keys to position the box where you want it

For example, to move the default text (Sample Text @ 72 pt.) from right to left:
In the Placement tab, set the X value of the first keyframe to +1.5 (text is off screen right);
Set the X value of the last keyframe to -1.5 (text is off screen left).
Play it and you'll see the text move right to left.
You can experiment with placing different letters in different positions and on different tracks.

Another tip for text (thanks to Douglas Spotted Eagle for this), especially if you plan to zoom in on it, is to double its size when you first open the text FX window.
Look in the upper left corner and change it from 720 x 480 (for NTSC) to 1440 x 960.
Adjust as necessary for PAL or HDV.
