Better to not laugh too hard when it comes to 3D comedy. :-)

BTW, I notice that extra 3D led-shutter glasses will not come cheap at £100 (AU$170) each.

I really do not expect the shutter glasses to take off much. They are too much of a hassle for a healthy brain, and they present a serious danger to a photosensitive epileptic brain where they may produce seizures.

What 3D video needs is something that 3D audio has. Of course, it is easy for audio because our ears do not care that the left and right audio get mixed along the way. As long as there is enough difference between what reaches the left ear and what reaches the right ear, the brain can analyze it.

Unfortunately, our brains have not developed the same analytical power for 3D video. Maybe some day they will (hey, the brains of fifty years ago could not handle the rapid cuts in modern video every 2-3 seconds, yet the same brains can handle it now).

Meanwhile, our best hope is that monitor manufacturers will figure out a way to apply the lenticular technology to their products. Of course when they do, we will all be shooting with 3 - 5 cameras to produce the same effect we do with two now. That, to me, seems the most likely way of the future.
