Panasonic hdc-sdt750 3d
 

I just picked up one of these little camcorders off Ebay for a very low price ( £650). At that price I thought it worth a go and it arrived yesterday morning. It's an ex demo version ( nothing with it except the 3d lens, battery and charger) so I have ordered a mini HDMI lead which is required to see the rushes straight onto my 3D TV. ( Maplin sell the lead for £20, but on Ebay the lead costs £2!)

Setup was very easy with a three step sequence to align the 3D lens. Whether I have got it spot on I will only discover once the lead has arrived.

It's very light, even with the lens attached. No zoom though. Also it looks pretty useless in dull or dark conditions as it loses a ton of light once the 3D lens is fitted.

Also you have to take into consideration it's a sbs setup so the range of play is quite limited. However, if I can get some decent 3D out of it, it will be very handy as the second unmanned cam for my 3D wedding shoots in 2011.

By the way I have yet to discover how to edit the footage on a mac. Any thoughts?

I have one of these and I am extremely disappointed in the 3D quality.
Perhaps I am somewhat jaded by watching so much 3D from my two camera rig.
Even in bright sunlight with optimal conditions I find the image quality unacceptable.
The color is lifeless and the resolution is really lacking and looks more like standard def then high def.

I'd start with Tim Dashwood's Stereo3D Toolbox and add Final Cut Editor. I made a pretty bad video of his exhibit @ NAB: YouTube - yt3d: Tim Dashwood, Stereo3d Toolbox 2.0, Panasonic AG-3DA1, Mirror Rig
