Panasonic Z10000 for Live-Broadcast?

Hello,
it's in the title - is there a way to use the Panasonic Z10000 for a Live 3D broadcast (for example over the internet)?
Using the component or hdmi output?
Is there another device needed to split the MVC file or is working directly with the signal of the camera?
Maybe someone has already experience with that.
Thanks for your help.
Jürgen

Re: Panasonic Z10000 for Live-Broadcast?

We've used Blackmagic 3D Pro Decklink cards and Ultrastudio 3D hardware to acquire live 3D from Z10K cameras. (NOTE: Blackmagic has rolled these products into their 4K line now)

The Z10K outputs 1080 24P 3D framed-packed over HDMI - which we captured live with Blackmagic hardware. From there, we encoded using our own proprietary NextStream encoders and transmitted over ASI satellite link.

Unfortunately, I don't think live switchers that can handle HDMI 1.4a frame-packing are very common - so your live production capabilities may be limited to monitoring and transmitting.

I'm happy to provide any additional information you need - just PM me.

Also - a Yellowbrik CHD1812 (http://media.lynx-technik.de/uploads...12-rev4_01.pdf) can supposedly split the HDMi 1.4a frame-packed output (1080 24P or 720 60p) of the Z10K into dual, frame synchronized HD-SDI outputs. Theoretically, you can run these into any 3D compatible live production switcher.

I've dropped LINKTechnik an email to verify that the Yellobrik will do this as advertised - if I hear back, I'll report it here.

Hi David,
thanks a lot for your input and the link to the Yellowbrik. I'll have our technical expert look into this.
Best regards,
Jürgen

Re: Panasonic Z10000 for Live-Broadcast?

I did hear back from LYNX...

"the CHD1812 cannot split a 3D HDMI frame-packed signal into two diferent HD-SDI signals (left and right). If there is a
3D HDMI frame-packed input signal connected, the CHD1812 will provide a 3G-SDI Level B (dual stream, 2 x HD-SDI mapped into one 3G-SDI stream)
signal on the SDI outputs. Both outputs will provide the same 3G-SDI Level B signal (loop-out)."

All the live productions that we've been involved with (where our encoders are used) use dual, single-linkl HD-SDI throughout the event site and production trucks. This has all been Cameron Pace gear. But - you can always split the dual-stream into discrete feeds, if the production switcher can't handle the dual-stream input.

I'm going to give one of these Yellowbrik's a try myself.
