Philips 3D TV without glasses in 2008

Of course, Sharp, the world's largest LCD maker, is likely to beat Philips on this one. I think that they already produce notebooks with 3D display.

Too late three companies already make 3D sets. WEll actually a thin screen that fits over a TV and creates perfect 3D no glasses.

Which companies? Do you have links? How well does it work? Does it cut on resolution? By how much?

I'd like to know myself. This all sounds pretty cool.

This makes lots of sense, with Bluray (upto 300GB) and Holodisks (upto 1.6TB) you could have S/UHD 3D movies on dis in future, even if you can't transmit them yet. Actually, you could have 3D SD movies today. If you look at my proposal on technology to extract 3D footage from a normal camera (a few months ago on the last 3D camera news thread) you could extract 3D footage from existing footage today. A whole new market for a dsp that does that with on existing DVD's.

For a second, home cam, I think this holds great promise.

Wayne dude, Maybe in the future when they release multi layer disks it could hold upto 200gig but no way 300.

Sorry Jemore, I might have got that confused with the first generation 300GB holodisk, but I did mean the future blue-ray ones announced by Sony.

If you are not shooting in 3D right now you are a fool. HD is obsolete, 3D is the only way to future proof your work. I would not waste money investing in an HD cam right now, it is dead tech....
