making a plate with rods for matebox

Hi,

I would like to make an aluminium plate with rods to support the camera and a matebox.
I first would like to know if there are standard rods diameter, and standard rods distance ?
I don't know which matebox I will use yet, but it may be a chrosziel. I want to build something compatible, like the Zacuto kit.

any advice ?

[EDIT]
Just found something on the Zacuto website :

The Baseplate comes with 12" support rods that are 15mm in diameter and has a 60mm standard lightweight distance between rod centers.

Can anyone confirm ?

I know there are 2 types of rods, in diameter and distances. Any info ?

Many thanks

yes, 15mm, 60mm spacing is the convention. hard anodize the aluminum as a finish. Be sure to use threaded inserts for thread holes. Don't attempt to tap the aluminum for removeable fasteners.
