CTRL+D for default transition? will not work..
Hi, I accidently applied a cross disolve by pushing ctrl + d once and i liked the feature.. ive now found out that that applies the default transition. I have made sure default is cross disolve but I cannot replicate this shortcut.. so i have to do anything specific with the the tools panel? Surely it should just work if I select the point that I want the disolve to happen, ensure there is video underneath it, and hit the shortcut...?
I have made sure that the specific video track i want to dip in opacity is selected.. but i now notice that I can only apply the transition to the video underneath the one i want to decrease in opacity... |
Yes I do come across having "cross dissolve by pushing ctrl + D" and it did not work. PP2 or PP3. What I do is Recreate a new Sequence copy and paste all the tracks to the new Sequence. Hope it also work for you

This might be a little obvious, but are you certain that your TLR is positioned between the two clips you're targeting? Pressing Page Up or Page Down will snap to the cuts accurately.

Joshua,
Thanks.. i get it now, i didnt realise you had to be directly on the end of the clip. This should save me a lot of time in future. Thanks |
And I believe that the correct track must be selected.

You don't need to be exactly on the cut, but the correct track needs to be selected.
BTW, Shift+Ctrl+D gives you default audio transition. |
thanks guys! this has proved very very helpful..
this is me just being picky but do you think there is anyway of adjusting the size of the default transition that is added? For example if a cross fade, the width of the pink bar (i think its pink) is always the same, regardless of the size of the clip.. do you know if there is anyway to make this a custom length? |
