Size problems while exporting from CS3 & Importing from CS2

Hello,

This is my problem.

I've made some videos (Pal 720x576) in frame mode (made with Xl1S) in PPro CS2, I imported the edits made to CS3. The thing is after I do my thing and export the videos, they come in smaller size, smaler than 720x576, the properties of the video file still says is 720x576 but the video is really smaller.

I've tried changing the "Keyframe and Rendering" form the "Export Movie Settings":

1. No Fields (progressive scan) as I made the videos recording in frame mode.

2. Leaving default (lower fields first).

3. Checking "deinterlace video footage"

Tried them all just in case but no luck!

The video settings in Export Movie Settings has:

a. Compressor: DV Pal; b. Frame size: can't be changed and shows correct size of 720x576; c. Frames: 25; d: Pixel Aspect Ratio: D1/DV Pal(1.067)

I did not change the "scale" in Motion which is in Video Effects. It's left in 100%.

Any thoughts why the videos are being risize smaller and how to solve this problem?

Thanks

Hard to say without more details...

1) How are you viewing these "smaller" files?

2) If you re-load them into a fresh CS3 project are the file specs still 720x576?

3) In what way are they smaller? - have they shrunk uniformly, or has one dimension contracted more than the other ...so that the image is now distorted?

3) Is there any kind of black margin around the "shrunk" image?

Basically, if the file really is still 720x576, there's no marginal pixels, and the pixel ratio hasnt changed, then I would say the problem must be with your playback software rather than the exported file itself.

Hello Graham,

More details:

Hard to say without more details...

1) How are you viewing these "smaller" files?

I export the project and see the file in Windows Media as usual. Original clips are viewed in original size, exported video: no.

2) If you re-load them into a fresh CS3 project are the file specs still 720x576?

Yes the file specs are still in 720x576

3) In what way are they smaller? - have they shrunk uniformly, or has one dimension contracted more than the other ...so that the image is now distorted?

They shrunk uniformly, no distortion whatsoever.

3) Is there any kind of black margin around the "shrunk" image?

I don't know since in Windows media background is always black.

Basically, if the file really is still 720x576, there's no marginal pixels, and the pixel ratio hasnt changed, then I would say the problem must be with your playback software rather than the exported file itself.

But then, why original clips are fine while the exported is not using the same playback software. By the way I'm using XP x64, but I thinks this doesn't mean anything relating this problem.
