Auto BPM detection

Hello all,

I have a 10 min track of music that i am editing to. i need to find out what BPM is it and i have no idea.

is there some sort of auto BPM detect? im using CS2 so have audition as well.

or are there any other apps to tell me this?

Thanks

Liam

Beats per minute, You could count the bass drum for 60 seconds, or if you just want to save some time, count for 15 seconds and multiply times 4. Unless it's a live piece the track was likely sequenced (if it's a modern track) so the BPM will not vary from start to finish.

Here even easier for you, http://www.all8.com/tools/bpm.htm

Out of curiosity what track are you cutting to... also you know that you can use the keyboard to insert markers on tempo changes or every 4 bars etc, just play the piece in Premier and press the * (asterisk on numeric keypad) every 4 bars etc. I use this all the time to cut montages, makes it easy when you want to cut to the music.

Im cutting to a 10 minute house track. i know its usually 120 bpm but to my knowledge it can vary.

thanks for the tip on asterik key as well, i used it when i was working early and it just makes it easy then scrubbing through the waveform!

thanks Miguel :)
