Capture from DVD camcorder via USB-2?

Is it possible to capture (to Premiere Pro - CS3) via the USB-2 port on a Sony HandycamŽ DCR-DVD101 DVD Camcorder?

I've only ever captured from video cameras with firewire. The Sony HandycamŽ DCR-DVD101 DVD Camcorder only has a USB-2 port.

Thanks

Hi Tim,

I think it only searches your Firewire ports when you try to capture, but one way to get DVD video to PC is to get your hands on a DVD ripper, a free one is DVDshrink which is freeware and its stable and virus free

Hope i helped, and good luck =D

I think Tim is trying to do a live capture from his DCR-DVD101 via USB2 to Premiere.

He only has the USB2 port. I don't believe this camera has a Firewire port.

Tim, have you tried it? I agree with Cameron, I don't think it'll work but you'll never know unless you try!

if he is doing a live capture i dont think it will work, but some universal web camera software might work

Thank you Cameron. That's not a bad idea.
