Adobe Premiere Pro 1.5, video plays to fast
 

Hello,
I have a following problem:
I have JVC GR-HD1 camecorder and when I film in Hi-res, I get the *.m2t files. I know that I can edit the *.m2t files with Premiere Pro 1.5. I bought this software and when I try to edit a movie, the video plays to fast. I dont know why. All the settings, which I configurate for my project are the same, like the videostream from the Camera (25 F/s, resolution, ...)

Maybe somebody can help me, please.

Do you mean the HD1 or the PD1 that shoots PAL?

I mean GR-PD1, you've right its the european version fo HD1.

You might want to repost this in the HDV editing forum. There is a way to make it work I just can't remember.

When you capture in Premiere Pro 1.5.1 it will convert the capture on the fly to Cineform AVI instead of M2T so you should be able to edit it OK.

I don't think the PD1 25Hz mode is supported as this was only standard definition (720x576x25p.) Only the 50Hz HDV mode can be used (720x756x50p.)

From the PD1 Manual:

HI-RES:
Allows you to record on a tape in MPEG2 format (576p). The camcorder records signals in the progressive scan mode (525 scanning lines at 1/25th of a second for recording and 1/50th of a second for playback at one time).

All editing software I have tested, bar the bundled MPEG EDIT STUDIO PRO, plays the footage twice as fast as a result. You need to teach the editing software to play at half the speed!

It isn't so weird. The M2T file is a 50Hz file with only 25Hz data -- currently this is the only this HDV mode like this, so NLE tools general don't directly support it. Aspect HD and the Premiere Pro 1.5.1 don't support the 25Hz mode but both support the 50Hz mode. The fix is likely coming for Aspect HD as support the new HD100 24/25/30p HDV camera uses a similar structure. The 24p is embedded in a 60Hz wrapper and the 25p is in a 50Hz wrapper (just like the PD1.) This was being demonstrating at NAB.
