cs4 youtube presets
 

When exporting from Premiere in CS4, I picked the H.264 format and the YouTube widescreen HD preset. This works fine and YouTube accepts it, and displays it correctly.

But only at 720/24p. Since the original is at 1080/30p, and since YouTube now accepts at least some form of 1080 input, it seems a shame to render the video down to 720/24p.

I'm guessing that this is just a by product of YouTube increasing their resolution after CS4 hit the marketplace. But if there's a patch that addresses this I haven't found it (which doesn't mean it's not there, just a problem with my ability to search).

Is there such a patch? If so, where do I download it from? Else, is there a workaround? I'm sure that CS5 addresses this, but I have to get some stuff out before CS5 will be available.

Oh, yes. I'm using a fully updated 64 bit Win7 PC for CS4. And I am a relatively severe newbie with CS4.

Just amend the preset to suit your export needs?

I export Windows Media file

1920x1080 25p

YouTube will render the file and display different versions.

Didn't know one could! I said I was a newbie. So much to learn...

I'll give it a shot on the next upload, see what happens.

Not as easy as it sounds. I've tried to change settings during Export... Media from CS4, and the Export Settings pop-up window refuses to let me increase the frame height pixel dimensions from 720 to 1080. This in the Video tab -- Basic Video Settings.

So again, how does one get CS-4 to render output for YouTube upload at 1080p?

Edit: forgot to add, I'm setting format to H.264 and preset to YouTube Widescreen HD.

I'm still looking but I'm not finding a way to get it done. Like most things I'm sure it's not that hard -- if you already know how.

Ah I see it gives you an error if you try to increase it. You need to change the level setting first from 3.2 to 4.1+ Also change the VBR to 2 pass and increase the target Mbps.

I find it easiert to export to WMV, H264 stutters on my PC.
