CS5 Plugin Press Releases

Thought I'd start a thread for those of us that have a load of plugins for Adobe products.. like After Effects, Premier Pro and Photoshop that will have to be upgraded to 64bit.

The thread is to give notice of updated plugins that will now support 64bit CS5....

To Start it off....

AfterEffects

RedGiant- has a compatability chart with their plugins in this press release...
Note: They are offering a free upgrade for those of us that use Trapcode Particular 2.0. Notice the time constraint if you need this upgrade is order by June 30. I could not get the paypal to work for the free upgrade, but a credit card works fine.

Here is the site..

Stupidly, I didn't think about plug-ins when upgrading - getting wound up on video cards etc. The odd thing is CS4 Premiere is happy opening CS5 Premiere files (or at least seems to be), while AE on CS4 will not open an AE5 file - reporting it as a version 10 file?

So I guess some of my old plug-ins, mostly bought as one-offs for particular jobs will just have to stay in 4, as 5 seems to 'find' some of them, but they don't work. Not worth upgrading them unless I really need them again. I should really have thought of this as Steinberg did the same thing on Cubase, when they dropped support for Direct X plug-ins! You'd think I'd have thought of this one!

I can't find what GPUs are supported by Magic Looks suite? Anyone know?

Mikael Bergstrom May 13th, 2010 03:44 PM

Like to know this to????

Ann Bens May 13th, 2010 06:19 PM

MPE GPU acceleration? Nope. MPE software only.

Even tho MB Looks may not support Cuda acceleration, it runs very close to realtime for me with a GTX 260 on XDCam EX 720p files.. Its very very fast... Congrats Red Giant.

A year or so ago, RedGiant was infuriatingly vague about the performance of Nvidia vs. ATI cards with their software. Judging by the link Ann posted, this is still the case.
