I'd use Edius for this, and forget CS5 altogether - works really well without needing a massive workstation - just my 2 cents....

Is it possible for you to do a test? I don't think I've seen a side-by-side comparison between Edius and PPro for mutli-cam editing with all native AVCHD streams. I'm curious to see how things shake out on this.

I say this because I recall Ron Evans mentioning that he transcoded AVCHD to Canopus HQ when doing multi-cam AVCHD editing with Edius when he had more than a couple of AVCHD streams in the muti-cam sequence.

Remember that what Clint wants to do here is edit a lot of 4 AVCHD stream muti-cam shoots without transcoding to more editable formats. He already has NeoScene which would allow him to work with transcoded intermediates, but constraints of time and disk-space led him to look for a way of editing the football games in the native AVCHD format.

If you've got some AVCHD footage to hand, could you try putting four longer (longer than 35 minutes) untranscoded AVCHD streams into a multi-cam sequence in Edius and tell us how editing goes? Please include system specs with your report which helps folks who will be evaluating NLEs.
