Deleting space between clips in premiere

Is there anyway to ripple delete a much of black spaces in between clips at one time?

Are you asking about having a bunch of clips that you individually shortened on the time line (which looks like a picket fence) or do you just need to take out a single chunk of space?

If it is the later, and you are running under Windows, then you put your mouse pointer on the space, left click once (to make it light up), right click (for a properties box), and select ripple delete. If you have multiple video tracks and have taken a chunk out of all of them together, just pull a box over the tracks where you want to cut the space and then do the ripple delete thing.

If it is the picket fence, I'm not sure there is a way to do it in one swell foop. Anybody else with any ideas?

That's fantastic Ann....

Keep up the good work!!!!

That is indeed wonderful.

Ann did it with a color matte but any video will work. I tried it and found you can pull from your source monitor (put your mouse on the film strip icon) and drop it on a track above your video. Pull a selection lasso/box around your gap-toothed track(s) and drop them onto the new video track, then pull them back (without de-selecting). Truly cool.
