Multitrack tutorial anyone?

Gentlemen:

Just over 2 weeks ago I purchased a Canon A1s to go along with an A1 which I’ve been borrowing for several months. A long time ago, I endeavored to pick up the basics on how to multi-track and since then forgot the process as I only did it once and was only partially successful.

Now that I really need to quickly relearn the process in earnest out of necessity, I’d really appreciate any recommendations or pointers to where I can find a good online or offline (step by step) tutorial geared towards newbies on how to get this up and recording.

A search on Dogpile didn’t yield too much and I figure there has to be a lot more on the subject in depth that clearly lays it out somewhere!

Adobes manual is not up to the task.

Thanks so much in advance.

You might try Lynda.com, there is this entry in the PPRo CS4 list of tutorials: Premiere Pro CS4 Tutorials | Beyond the Basics
Check out tutorial #12.

This is not a free site but the rates are very reasonable, there is also a monthly "all-you-can-eat"
rate.

It's actually fairly simple. I always kept this page open on another monitor the first few times I did it:

Adobe Premiere Pro CS3

Herr's the CS5 version:

Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 * Multi-camera sequences

I know you said you already read the manual but maybe not these specific pages.

And here's another useful page:

Multi-Camera - Adobe Premiere Pro

Let us know if this doesn't make sense or if you have more questions.

Edit: Ah, found it. This is the page I found pretty useful:

http://www.adobe.com/designcenter/pr...t_multicam.pdf

It's really old, from 2.0, but the process is the same.

Adobe TV used to have a good multicam tutorial, but this is the only one I can find:

Short and Suite - Multicam Sync and Editing | Adobe TV

YouTube also has a lot to choose from.

Thanks for springboarding me into this next phase of editing life and for providing these links to study.

Hopefully the procedure is basically the same for CS3 and CS5.

Kind regards
