OT - Adding Alternate Languages

I know this is not a Premiere issue, but this is the place where all the brains live and I need some opinions.

A client needs to add a couple of foreign languages to an existing tutorial we produced years ago. After shopping the translation services, the price tag is not cost effective, so we are taking the DIY approach. We have paid for the written foreign translations and I will record the foreign speaking talent locally.

Here is my conundrum.

The on camera talent is male, a high energy 65 year old. My only local option for the Arabic translation is female. I know for a drama, mixing genders would not be an option, but what about for technical and information material?

The soundtrack will be mixed with the ambient male voice present in the background and underneath the foreign dub far enough to not conflict. My thinking is that it would convey the male presence of the original speaker.

Has anyone here done this sort of thing? Stephen.... isn't this in your area of expertise?

What about changing the female talents pitch to sound more "male" in a audio editing program?
