Re: SpeedGrade question

I'm also considering Resolve as SG about killed my hard drive space on a recent project. Not loving the workflow and the limited surface support and not being able to customize the keyboard are letdowns. The search continues. Cheers

Its early days for SpeedGrade, be patient.

I am loving Resolve Lite in the mean time. I now need a degree in brain surgery to work it all out. There are plenty of good tutorials on YouTube for Resolve, just do a search.

Re: SpeedGrade question

There is a fairly recent update to Speedgrade (as well as most of the CS6 apps too) if you check for them through Adobe Updater.
I found that SG worked a lot better after the last update. Before the update, I couldn't make it do anything. Also, you may want to try exporting an EDL from Premiere and then opening in SG if you don't want to wait for a conversion to DPX. As long as all your footage is supported in SG it works great!

Even with all of that, it's still not ready for prime-time yet since there is no way to accommodate changes in the edit. Unless you have an iron-clad image lock on your final edit, SG is a problematic solution for now...

Making a simple change in your edit will mean having to re-grade your whole project... bummer!
