60i footage into 24p sequence?

Hi,

I have 60i footage that I want to import into a 24p sequence. The scene was filmed in 60i specifically because I want to slow it down 50% in my premiere sequence and the 24p does not allow for good slow motion.
*
My concerns are how to do it, and how to (if necessary) de-interlace the 60i?

I have asked this question on the Adobe Premiere forum however nobody has replied... maybe the fine folks at DVinfo.net know a little something about this?

Thanks!

slow the clip down in a matching sequence and bring that into the 24p timeline
Deintelace via Field Options if necessairy.

Re: 60i footage into 24p sequence?

Ppro CS2 couldn't separate the fields, so I started using After Effects to do this conversion.

Not sure if Ppro CS4,5 or 6 have figured it out, 'deinterlace' in premiere used to mean, "throw-away one field and interpolate to fill in the lost lines. "

In AE you do it with a few nested comps and the right 'interpret footage" settings. I could elaborate, I may have already done so in an older thread here...

CS6 has a different deinterlacing method now.
