pinning projects on CS5
after I have saved projects and closed down Adobe premiere Pro 5 and re-opened Pro 5 again the saved project doesn't always show up as pinned on the first panel to appear. It is only after I select CS5 which IS pinned in the first panel, the short cut is shown on a second panel as a recent project and I can select it. Can anyone tell me how to get the project pinned on the first panel.

What do you mean by "pinned"?

Re: pinning projects on CS5
Bart. Thanks for your interest, I don't know how to explain pinning. Adobe does not explain it. The nearest I can think of is that when CS5 pro is opened a panel appears and shows in fact a series of shortcuts so that you can go directly to the project you are working on instead of importing it. Some of my projects appear on the panel and some don't. In my case the projects that don't appear on this first panel pinned(Adobe wording) appear later on another panel as recent projects and files after opening the programme. This procedure does not affect my editing, it just takes longer for the project to appear on the timeline. thanks

Re: pinning projects on CS5
Roy, ISTM that the Projects listed on the Welsome screen are the same ones that appear in the Recent Projects list under the File menu when PP is opened. I know that list cen get 'out of sorts' when Adobe apps don't shut down properly. I noted that PP Help refers to the Welcome screen as the Startup screen.
I hesitate to link to another forum as I understand it is frowned upon, but I found a reference at the Adobe PP forums that said if you right click the PP icon in a 'Windows' task bar when the Welcome screen is being displayed, it also shows the recent projects list with options to un pin. Unfortunately that does not help you, but it might start you in the right direction. |
Re: pinning projects on CS5
The only reason (apart from crashing) that I can think of when projects disappear from the welcome screen, is if Premiere can't get access to the drive or directory where they were saved. So for example if you moved the project file, or changed the directory name, or disconnected an external drive, the projects would disappear.
