Severe problem Premier Pro CS6 Mac

Severe problem Premier Pro will attempt to save your project. I keep getting this message every week or so. The project reopens just fine, but it make me save it as another copy.

I've tried deleting the pek & cfa files, along with deleting the media cache & render files, but the problem still persists.

Can I delete the .ims & pgindex files also? should I delete all the older copies?

Just reinstalled the program & it's still acting up.

Thanks, C

It sounds like you are talking about the auto-save function? This is a good thing, not a bug, it can save your *** if something corrupts a later version, it gives you something to work from so you don't lose everything. If you really don't want automatic backups, preferences>auto backup and uncheck the autobackup box will turn it off. (I am on PC, assuming the Mac is similar). But have a thought before you do this....or am I missing something else altogether?

No. This is not auto save, it is a "severe problem" when closing a project.

I've had a similar message and it usually turns out to be a problem hard drive which goes into write-protection mode after Windows detects an error - not sure if Mac OS has a similar function?

Next time you get the message, try to copy any other file or folder to the project destination drive and see if it is actually a recurring disk error as opposed to a Premiere error.

Thanks, I can try putting the back-up drive in.
