Exporting to to encore
 

Hey guys I just finished up my latest feature and am trying to run some tests on the final output. I have run into problems in the past and want to eliminate any on this since I am in a time crunch. I am using 24p 16x9 DV footage Premiere Pro 1.5. Bottom line, what is going to give me the best results? I am going into encore. Should I render out a DV avi or mpeg? Should it be at 23.976 or 29.97 fps? progrssive or or lower field first? Once I'm in encore are there certain settings I need to be aware of. I am thinking that my problems in the past were caused by using a combintation between premiere and encore that gave me the bunk results. I am going to start running these test my self but any info I can get from this great community would be aprietiated.

Ok, already I am having a problem. Something new. When I attempt to render out an mpeg-2 when it just about gets done with the first pass it gives me an error saying that "premiere failed to render a frame, canceling operation" and stops the render. I have tried all the presets and am now rendering another scene to see if it was something in that paticular scene causing it or if it my encoder that is wrong.


Never mind, forgot about the patch from main concept

Maybe you could do what I do: output as an AVI, import that in Encore, and render it to MPEG-2 in Encore?

Well I have rendered out 10 movie files, 4 mpegs and 6 avi's. Just watching them on my computer non of the mpegs have any visible diffrences. Now for the avi's, only one of them would play properly, the one that is was set at 29.97 fps progressive with the deinterlaced option checked. All the others bounced around to the point where you can't even watch it. I am now importing them into encore to see how they look after being transcoded and put to a dvd.

If anyone has ran similar tests or have there method prefected I would still love to hear it.

Well after watching them all the mpegs seem to look the same. But I went with the 23.976 fps with the 3:2 pulldown preogressive. As for the dv avi's the only two that worked were the deinterlaced ones.all the others had visuable interlaced artifacts.
