Rendering times?
i am quite new to Premiere 1.5 but and I have pretty much given up on it. Maybe I can get a fix here before I totally remove it.
In Premiere Elements 2.0 I can render a 5 minute clip in a few seconds, I can create a WMV file of that same clip in less than 5 minutes. In Premiere...the same clip takes 6 hours to create the WMV file. And the rendering times take forever. Any help with this would be very greatly appreciated. I am using a WinXP P4 2.8 with a 800Mgz Front Side Bus and 1G of RAM. All of my scratch folders are on a large separate hard drive reserved only for video editing. This computer usually blasts through anything quite easily..It is frustrating that Premiere kills it. |

One thing, you mention that you're rendering out to WMV, why not see how long it takes to render out to a Microsoft DV file, then when you want the WMV file, use Windows Media Encoder, it's a free download from Microsoft if you don't already have it. You might suddenly find that the 3rd party interface to the WMV is really your problem and not the software. Just a suggestion. Miguel |
Thanks for you reply...
After some digging around in the export settings zi found that I had the default as '24p Advanced' as the output format. I changed it to NTSC and it is all fine now. Geesh...that is a hidden away in the sub-menu's setting...is it the default?? |
