Adobe AE question

Question:

I know how to have multiple videos playing on the screen at once.

I know how to change their sizes over time.

My question is how do I change the area of a paticular video that is shown on screen. For example, I want it to be square, and only showing the top left of a paticular video, then expand to full screen, and then shrink again, but only showing the bottom right of the video. Or perhaps I would like to go from a box, to more of a rectangle, but without squishing the video.

Basically I don't want to expand or shrink the size of the video, but rather I want to control where the viewer is looking.

Think Fox "24"

If there is already a thread for this subject, maybe you can provide link? I ran a search, but no success.

This is done using Masks, create a new mask (right click; Mask; New Mask) for the layer of footage you want to do this to, and you'll see a yellow border appear around the footage in the comp window.

Play with the mask in the same way you manipulate other files, from motion to size etc. Twirl down the options in the Timeline for the layer to see the options.

Thanks for the prompt reply. I'll give it a try right away.
