What training DVD/CD do you recommend?
I recently acquired Adobe Production Studio. Having had a little bit of Premiere 6.0 experience and 3 years with MediaStudio Pro, I was quickly able to start a new project, capture footage, organize my bins, edit, and output a 4-minute music video. But I feel like I'm doing everything the hard way and want to improve my efficiency and learn how to use the Multicam feature for an upcoming wedding shoot. Which video training product do you recommend? I'ved looked at Total Training, MDTS, Lynda.com, Class On Demand, and Apex. I don't really care for online subscriptions because my NLE computer isn't on the 'Net. I want a DVD or CD-ROM product.
Things I need to learn most include using effects, mixing audio (I don't want to mess with rubberbands), motion paths, chroma keying, and best practices for trimming/archiving the project. Thanks, T.J. |
I used the Total Training Studio Techniques book by Adobe. The included cd is good also. Go through this cover to cover and you will have very few questions unanswered.

Total Training is the best. Jacob Rosenberg does the training, and he is the author of the book that was suggested. I agree that the book is a great place to start, unless you really want to do it the best possible way with his DVDs.
The Lynda.com stuff is pretty good too. They all are. But none hold a candle to Total Training. |
I do agree, Total Training is the best. :)
Total Training launched a Value Bundle for Adobe Production Studio a couple a days ago. Training for all apps in Production Studio is included: http://www.totaltraining.com/prod/bu...rodstudio.asp? You will not regret that you bought any DVD from Total Training! /Roger |

Thanks for all the responses. I'm doing pretty good on my own using Wiley's Adobe Premiere Pro Bible, since terminology is the same from one NLE app to the next. What's really been helpful to me is the Adobe Press Illustrator CS2 Classroom in a Book. Nice crash course that gets you learning through actual projects. I have the Classroom in a Book for Encore DVD 2 as well, which I'll need in a few weeks.
Learning all these applicatioins the same time I'm learning Dreamweaver for school is going to make my head explode! T.J. |
