PAL to NTSC conversion...
Howdy! I have a request to post some video clips to an ftp site for some folks in China. Can I use Premiere 2.0 to convert NTSC footage to PAL?
Thanks |
I have done this from PAL to NTSC within Premiere Pro 2, so I believe it is possible the other way also.
But notice that the image quality will degrade. Import your NTSC footage into a PAL project, and render to the format you want. Then the rendered file should be PAL. |
Trond, thank you for reply!

so all i have to do is create a new ntsc project (im using PP2 btw) bring in the footage and render it to 25fps. are there any issues that i could arise from this? Thanks :) Liam |
When converting from NTSC to PAL:
You must create a PAL project, and import your NTSC video. Then you can just "export movie" to create a PAL version of your video. (or use the media encoder just as you would do with a regular NTSC project) Like I said in the previous post, your final video will lose some picture quality. You might want to check out DVfilm's Atlantis software. www.dvfilm.com/atlantis This software reportedly gives better quality when converting between PAL and NTSC. (several people have mentioned Atlantis in other threads) |
