premiere error
 

ok, one more issue while i'm here.
i am editing a video and premiere continues to act strange.
anytime i try to drag a large chunk of clips over on the time line (multitrack select tool) premiere shuts down.
everytime.
without question.

anyone have a quick fix on this?
i am using prem 6 and this is happening on a machine that i have had premiere pro 1.5 installed on so i am confident its not a ram issue.
help me obi wan kenobi.....

Hi Jason,

unfortuanlty the frame grab does not really tell us anything useful. Do you get any errors in the event viewer log?

Are you dragging to the end of the timeline?
What happens if you import the footage in a new project?
What happens if you move 1 clip at a time?
etc etc

Try resetting your prefferences then try it again. That can clear up a bunch of problems. Check your manual, or maybe Ed can tell you. I'm away from home and I forget how to do it exactly. Something about starting the program with control key held down or something.

CTRL + SHIFT or ALT + SHIFT (I think) while starting premiere (I think will only work with upto version 6.5). Doing this will reset premiere to default settings.

does the error sound familiar? I am trying to get to the root of the problem and was hoping that someone ran into this before.

The error you have print screened is a generic error which windows produces when a program crashes, it does not tell us what and why it happened. the evnt viewer log might give more info, but a log from Premiere would be even more useful. I'm not too sure that Premiere creates a log -I'm not at my machine so can not say for definate.
