Magic Bullet (Look Suite Issue)

I did a search, and couldn't find anything touching on this issue.

I installed Magic Bullet 2 in Premiere Pro, and I cannot find the Looksuite Presets (all the different presets on their webpage). I can do it manually, but the presets are nowhere to be found.

On the tutorial/help section it shows the Looksuite presets in a folder of it's own (Audio Effects, Audio Transitions, Video Effects, Video Transitions, Look Suite Presets), but I don't have that. I've tried re-installing but alas, still no presets.

Any ideas?

It's probably something ridiculously simple I overlooked. *slaps forehead*

Hi Steve,

I have two folders, in the effects window.

One "Magic Bullet" folder in (VIDEO EFFECTS) folder, and a "Look suite 2 Presets" folder in the main window. I suppose you have to make sure its installed in your Plugins folder.

C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro 2.0\Plug-ins\en_US

something like the above.

Ivan, thank you for your reply.

I am missing the "Look Suite 2 Presets" in the main window. That's the one I want, haha. I have the Look Suite in "Video Effects".

In my plug-ins folder, all I see is:

...\Adobe\Premiere Pro\Plug-ins\Magic Bullet Editors Premiere

In that folder are 3 things:

1) Deartifacter Folder
2) MBLook Suite.aex
3) mbeditorsppro.log

Any ideas?

Hi Steve,

Thats correct, thats what I also have...

In the "Effects preset" (Just above Magic Bullet Editors Premiere folder) there is a file called "Look suit 2.prfpset" @ 2,604kb...Do you have that?

There should also be a folder called "MisFire" in the plugins folder. I take it you have that, as you have a folder in the video effects.

Thats all I can see so far...

Ivan.

Yes Ivan, I have the "Look Suite 2.prfpset" file and the Misfire folder.

Do I have to manually load that Preset file for it to work? Hrmm...

Thanks again for all your help!

Hi Steve,

I think i have the answer.....Ok in the effects panel, go to the little wing menu thingy and import presets..point to "Look suit 2.prfpset file and it should work.

Ivan.

Little Wing Thingy? I've been staring at this thing for a few minutes now, and have been clicking around quite a bit, and I can't find an option to even Import or Browse for anything from the Effects folder....

Screenshot perhaps?

I'm really sorry, I really feel humbled by this, because I am usually pretty computer/tech saavy, but now, no. I feel like I have a serious learning disability.

Thanks so much for your help Ivan... You have a lot of patience! haha

Steve,

I believe Ivan is talking about the panel menus. These are small, circled triangles in the upper-right corner of most panels. You'll have used these when setting up a new reference monitor or choosing between Draft, Highest Quality, and Automatic on your Composition Panel.

You can also right click the Presets bin and you'll see the option for "Import Preset..." in the context menu that appears.

LOL!,

Sorry Steve, It was a crap description I gave..Do what the other guys said.

Ivan.

Edit: I would have added a screenshot, but I dont have that option (I would like the option to post screenshots as they help a lot) any ideas people.

Steve Rosswick May 27th, 2007 08:12 AM

Okay guys, I think I know why I'm so confused (it's not my fault!) haha.

I'm using Premiere Pro v7 or 1.0, NOT 2.0 like you guys are. I saw a tutorial for importing presets in 2.0 and yes, it's quite easy, just click the menu > import preset.

However in 1.0 it's not that simple. I don't even know if I have the option....

What about using the presets in After Effects 6.5? I don't really care where it happens, I just want to be able to work with the available presets too, in addition to the manual Look Suite program.

Thanks guys for all your help!

Hi Steve,

Ok, that would explain it...I'm not sure about the version you are using, but I'm pretty sure you should be able to load presets.

Good luck, I hope you get it.

Ivan.
