3 or 4 channel audio?
Looking for something small and poratable that can take in at least three channels of audio and record it to harddrive or flash/sd card, prefer 4 but three will do, and is there any that also have two outputs to xlr? so I can wire through it to the camera afterwards?

The two products that come to mind are the Sound Devices 744T and the Edirol R4. Of the two, the Edirol is less expensive and in some ways a better option, particularly if you need to use four phantom powered mics. Both are very good and I've worked with both and honestly give the nod to the R4 (mainly because I hate the interface on the SD 744T, but that's a personal preference and not a technical issue).

Do you want to record 4 independent tracks or do you want 4 channel input to mix and record as stereo? |
